My journey in music began in 1996 after being invited to join the worship band at All Saints, Ecclesall in Sheffield. I only knew 3 chords at the time and soon learned I wouldn’t need to know too much more for most Sunday services. My friend Robin then showed me how to program a drumbeat on Cubase and I’ve been a certified music production addict for 21 years. As well as writing and producing music throughout my teenage years, I also performed as part of several indie and pop bands before hanging up my breakdancing shoes to pursue further education. Whilst completing a Music Practice degree (sounds as easy as it was), I worked in some pretty awesome studios and devoted my time to leading worship at church. Having helped develop musical talent at my church in Sheffield, I ended up managing the guys in The Gentlemen, a very cool indie/rock band and the insanely gifted Philippa Hanna who had all been part of our worship team. I started Resound Media in 2005 fresh out of University with a vision to produce and promote amazing music and have been working hard ever since. With some experience under my belt with managing these acts, I then started up Sound Consultancy, an artist development company in 2010 and launched Rocket Fuel in 2014 as a way to help artist fund their next steps. I’m excited to see the vision of Homegrown Worship spring to life in the next chapter. Me and my wife Emily now live in Gloucestershire and are part of Trinity, Cheltenham, a really cool church.
